Cyclosporin A is the most attractive candidate "hair drug" for human hair loss. It is proven hair growth stimulator in mice.
However, cyclosporin A has serious side effects on kidneys.
Therefore some non-toxic cyclosporin A derivatives should be developed.
In current study, 6 derivative drugs were tested: LG 40, 64-1, 70-2, 409, 432 and 474.
Among all, LG 70-2 was shown to have equipotent hair growth inducing abilities, while possessing very little renal toxicity.
LG 70-2, therefore, is highly promising new topical hair loss drug.
